Study in Dubai

Study in Dubai

Amidst its splendor, people often overlook Dubai’s growing academic reputation. For example, Dubai hosts reputable domestic universities like Zayed University and the University of Dubai, as well as private, non-sectarian institutions like the American University in Dubai, which offers accreditation from both the US and the UAE for all its programs. With around 85% of the city’s population being expatriates who predominantly speak English, Indian students find it easy to navigate daily life while studying in Dubai. This fact encourages aspiring students to consider Dubai for their education. However, as a developing country, Dubai may present challenges in quickly accessing essential information compared to other countries.

Documentation

Documents required for a Dubai Student Visa include the following:

  • It is necessary to have a passport with at least six months of validity, as well as two vacant visa pages in the passport (one to endorse the visa and one for entry stamps)
  • Copies of one’s passport (about 4).
  • Photographs (about 12)
  • Upon arrival, copies of your passport together with your entry visa to the UAE will be required (about 3 copies)
  • Evidence of admission into a higher institution in the United Arab Emirates (offer letter)
  • Perhaps bank statements demonstrating the presence of money in the UAE.
  • Perhaps a tenancy agreement (or letter from the university if staying in university accommodation)
  • A copy of the tuition fee receipt for the current academic year of the programme is also required.
  • A copy of the receipt for the visa costs for the current academic year of the programme
  • Students pursuing post-graduate studies will be required to have their undergraduate degrees verified.
  • Students from certain countries will be subjected to a security check in order to prevent posing a danger to UAE national security.

You must complete several medical procedures, including blood tests and chest X-rays, at an approved UAE medical facility (allow AED 350-500).

These tests often screen for HIV (AIDS), Hepatitis B and C, Tuberculosis (TB), Leprosy, and Syphilis.

If the tests reveal that you have any of these diseases, except syphilis, you will be deported. Syphilis is treated.
